Some musings on that revelation at the end of the last-till-further-notice Pushing Daisies

So Aunt Lily is apparently not an aunt.

I don't know whether the Aunts' surname is mentioned early on or whether it's established which side of the family they come from, but Wikipedia lists their names as Lily and Vivian Charles. So wouldn't that mean that they were the sisters of Chuck's father, Charles Charles, and therefore Chuck is the product of an incestous relationship?

Hmm, just looked at the postcard that arrives late from Charlotte and the surname definitely begins with a C but otherwise is illegible.



Any thoughts?

I'm fairly sure the narrator-person calls them "Lily and Vivian Charles" several times. Which makes for disturbing conclusions, yes. I'm now very confused as to how that all works, without being very wrong. Perhaps they just happen to have the same surname. Perhaps there's some rather complex solution involving adoption, although I can't quite articulate the circumstances of all that - I'm having enough difficulty making my fingers hit the right keys, let alone get my brain up to working temperature. It's very very cold in my room. But I'm really curious as to the reason behind the secrecy. I think it'd be a little too complex and disturbing for a show like Pushing Daisies, where the darkest it really gets is dead people who seem perfectly okay with being dead and "I killed your dad by accident cos of this power I have". It's all taken in rather lighthearted terms, so I really really want to find out the story behind all this.

my crazah theory is that Emerson is her daddy.

my other crazah theory is that Lilian and Vivian were both married to Chuck's dad (polygamy being legal in the universe) but I'm guessing that is too cracky even for Pushing Daisies.
